Regime Change in Ethiopia?

If recent reports are to be believed, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia may not be in power much longer. Seen by many as a tyrant and brutal dictator, despised even in his own hometown, Meles Zenawi has ruled over the troubled African nation since 1991.

In May the Prime Minister attended the G8 Food Security Symposium in Washington DC, where his speech was interrupted by a journalist-activist demanding "freedom." Some have said that it might have been political mistake for US President Barack Obama to invite the unpopular leader to the symposium, noting that there are a half-million Ethiopians who live in Virginia, an important swing state for the upcoming Presidential election.

Many political leaders face hecklers, but this report seems to substantiate the notion that the Prime Minister's grip on power is slipping fast, and that he is now a de facto puppet of the CIA who has turned over control of his ministries to them, and technocrats of the US State Department. Ethiopia has the largest, most advanced military in Africa, and is a critical asset to US regional interests at the cost of $7-billion annually in aid. With his power-bases all but evaporated and his popularity at home nearly non-existent, Zenawi has maintained his grip on power by purging any viable candidates, particularly from the military, who would be viable candidates to succeed him. This also puts the CIA in the difficult position of not having a backup plan should the dictator become no longer viable whatsoever. Or so the CIA might make it appear anyway.

September 2011
What appears to be true at this point, is that the 57-year old is gravely ill. The latest reports indicate that he is in critical condition at a hospital in Brussels, Belgium. This is denied by his government, who say the Prime Minister is only mildly ill and will be back in the public eye in days.

June 2012
These are not the first rumors of ill health either. About a month after his US visit with Barack Obama, Zenawi attended the annual G-20 summit in Los Cabos, Mexico, where he appeared to not be well. Some correspondents also report that it was his last public appearance. Since then he has missed an important meeting of the African Union, in Addis Ababa. A government press conference scheduled for Wednesday was postponed.

Rumors range from a stomach ailment, to treatment for cancer in his bloodstream, to a brain tumor. Some have suggested a CIA conspiracy to poison him, in order to remove him efficiently and install a new proxy without much turmoil. Others speculate that if Zenawi dies, the US will lose a critical ally in the region, and even that a new civil-war in Ethiopia might ensue.

With so much chaos in neighboring Egypt and Libya, it is hard to imagine that if Zenawi were to fall from power now, there would not be tumultuous repercussions for the region.

H. Clinton Jokes About Quadaffy Death

I really don't think this is appropriate for an elder stateswoman to be acting like this, on or off camera. It really reeks of the evil being perpetrated on the world by her handlers. Especially considering that she knows, or at least should know, the truth about the war in Libya. You can check out links below the vid for more on that.

This is the real Hillary. The one you see on TV is photoshopped.

A Few Interesting Facts About Libya

-Two years prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks, Libya pledged its commitment to fighting Al-Qaeda and offered to open up its weapons program to international inspection

- Following the attacks of 11 September, Gaddafi made one of the first, and firmest, denunciations of the Al-Qaeda bombers by any Muslim leader. Gaddafi also appeared on ABC for an open interview with George Stephanopoulos, a move that would have seemed unthinkable less than a decade earlier

- Following the overthrow of Saddam Hussein by US forces in 2003, Gaddafi announced that his nation had an active weapons of mass destruction program, but was willing to allow international inspectors into his country to observe and dismantle them

- In March 2004, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair became one of the first Western leaders in decades to visit Libya and publicly meet Gaddafi. Blair praised Gaddafi’s recent acts, and stated that he hoped Libya could now be a strong ally in the international War on Terrorism

- On 15 May 2006, the US State Department announced that it would restore full diplomatic relations with Libya, once Gaddafi declared he was abandoning Libya’s weapons of mass destruction program. The State Department also said that Libya would be removed from the list of nations supporting terrorism

- In July 2007, French president Nicolas Sarkozy visited Libya and signed a number of bilateral and multilateral (EU) agreements with Gaddafi

- In September 2008, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited Libya and met with Gaddafi as part of a North African tour. This was the first visit to Libya by a US Secretary of State since 1953

Why Libya? Why Now?

A decade ago, there were only a handful of nations left on the planet that did not have a central bank dominated by the Rothschild family. Iraq was on that short list, and Saddam Hussein was promptly eliminated when he decided to drop the American dollar as the currency for which to purchase Iraqi oil. Also on this short list are Cuba, and North Korea. Up until just recently now, Sudan, and Libya rounded out that short list. Maybe now it will make a little more sense to you, what is behind our latest adventure, and that of the globalist United Nations along with their NATO military arm. This is the New World Order folks, make no mistake. This is the end game.

Libya: Libyan Rebels Are CIA Funded, al Qaeda Connected Murderers

This so called liberation of Libya is the EXACT opposite of what the corporate media is actually reporting.

Gaddafi's fall might allow al-Qaeda affiliates take over southern Libya: Analysts

The fall of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi might see the al-Qaeda affiliated Islamic terrorist groups filling up the void, US analysts have said.

Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links

Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime.

Top Libyan Rebel Leader Has Deep Al Qaeda Ties

Abdel Hakim Belhadj, who leads the rebel forces in Tripoli, was a founder of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, and is believed to have been close to bloodthirsty head of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

EDIT (9/3/11) to add:

"Whoever knowingly provides material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both, and, if the death of any person results, shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life. To violate this paragraph, a person must have knowledge that the organization is a designated terrorist organization (as defined in subsection (g)(6)), that the organization has engaged or engages in terrorist activity (as defined in section 212(a)(3)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act), or that the organization has engaged or engages in terrorism (as defined in section 140(d)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1988 and 1989)." -USC § 2339B. Providing material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations

Libyan Islamist Fighting Group, or LIFG (anti-Qadaffy forces)are listed as a terrorist organization by the US State Department...

...This same faction is responsible for contributing more foreign fighters than any other country, to fight against US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan...

Say hello to $5-6 a gallon

And so the badly thought out experiment to supply Libyan rebels with a central bank, to be used to fund an "alternative" fuel industry comes to a prompt and fiery end. Reuters reports that "Libyan government forces destroyed four fuel storage tanks and set several others ablaze in rebel-held Misrata, dealing a blow to the port city's ability to withstand a government siege, rebels said on Saturday." Not surprisingly this fits in perfectly with the assumption first postulated by Zero Hedge that Gaddafi will destroy his entire oil infrastructure before letting it fall into "enemy" hands. This likely marks the end of the Libyan rebellion and will force NATO to launch a land offensive or suffer a crushing blow to its already shaky reputation as globocop, especially now that the US is in theory at least, out of the air campaign against Gaddafi. Which means that the boots on the ground are soon coming. Alas, it will not be the marines in the Kearsarge. As the below naval update map indicates, the Kearsarge has been relieved and now has left the theater of operations, however replaced with LHD 5 Bataan.

Car Wars: Roadmaps to Libya's Ground Conflict

This article is a bit of a solicitation for much more Western intervention on the ground, but it does give some good insight into history and military tactics.

Car wars: Roadmaps to Libya's ground conflict
Almost exactly one hundred years ago on November 1, 1911, air war was invented in the Italian invasion of Libya when army pilot Lt Giulio Gavotti dropped four grenades on Ottoman positions in the oasis of 'Ain Zara just outside Tripoli.

In the century since, the air campaign has become the spectacular centrepiece of western warfare, but the failure of NATO's intervention to tip the balance against Gaddafi is a reminder that it's hard to win a war from 10,000 feet.

The horrifying siege of Misurata, whose only relief comes from the sea, not the air, and the back and forth movement on the road that links Benghazi to Sirte by way of Ajdabia, Brega and Ras Lanuf suggest that this war will be played out on the ground.

In the last weeks the alliance between NATO and the Libyan rebels has begun to fray. NATO airstrikes decimated a convoy of rebel tanks and a bus full of fighters between Brega and Ajdabiya on April 7, and NATO refused to apologise. The rebels have found that close air support without sufficient ground resources is not the magic bullet that many supporters of intervention imagined.

With only few paramilitary intelligence officers on the ground in Libya, tactical attacks on Gaddafi's mobile forces are severely limited and isolated in their scope.

Why are we in Libya?

Why are the U.S. and western powers supporting a rebellion of self-avowed terrorists with openly admitted ties to al-Qaeda who commit worse atrocities than the legitimate sovereign Qaddafi government was ever accused of?

The New World Order is something that conspiracy theorists have been talking about for years, and is even a term that George H.W. Bush used in Presidential address, yet somehow the general public here in America just rolls their eyes and turns their back every time they hear the term.

So why are we attacking the sovereign and legitimate government of Libya in support of a rebellious insurgency? Because Libya is one of the very last nations on the planet that have not fallen under the sway of the Zionist (not to be confused with Jewish) international banking cartel of the Rothschild family. This cartel seized control of the United States economy in 1913. Today, it is Libya's turn. One of the last hold-outs on the face of the planet. One of the last stumbling blocks along the road to a New World Order controlled by one small group of elite cartel families.

Iraq was on that list. So is Sudan, another potential target of the African campaign. That hell-hole has long been a bastion of turmoil, genocide, and human suffering. Wouldn't take much at all to whip up public support for a war there "to save the poor Sudanese people."

And who else is on that list? Coincidentally enough, the short list is made up of the United States' leading long time enemies. The only nations left in the world now, that do not have a central bank dominated by the Rothschild cartel are Cuba, North Korea, and Iran. And of course Sudan as just mentioned, and Libya who is about to fall like Iraq did.

Now today, we have this article that comes out of Italy which lays bare the financial aspect of this war and the wholesale looting of Libya's sovereign financial wealth. This is the Rothschild cartel seizing control of Libya's finances.

Financial Heist of the Century: Confiscating Libya's Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWF)

by Manlio Dinucci

The objective of the war against Libya is not just its oil reserves (now estimated at 60 billion barrels), which are the greatest in Africa and whose extraction costs are among the lowest in the world, nor the natural gas reserves of which are estimated at about 1,500 billion cubic meters. In the crosshairs of "willing" of the operation “Unified Protector” there are sovereign wealth funds, capital that the Libyan state has invested abroad.

The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) manages sovereign wealth funds estimated at about $70 billion U.S., rising to more than $150 billion if you include foreign investments of the Central Bank and other bodies. But it might be more. Even if they are lower than those of Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, Libyan sovereign wealth funds have been characterized by their rapid growth. When LIA was established in 2006, it had $40 billion at its disposal. In just five years, LIA has invested over one hundred companies in North Africa, Asia, Europe, the U.S. and South America: holding, banking, real estate, industries, oil companies and others.

UN and France open new front in Ivory Coast, as predicted!

On March 23, I outlined the hypothesis that a conquest of Africa had begun. That post can be seen here...

http://stationsixunderground.blogspot.com/2011/03/quick-overthrow-of-government-in.html

Here is an excerpt from that post...

Then we have the French mission. Operation Harmattan. Wiki says, "The Harmattan is a dry and dusty West African trade wind. It blows south from the Sahara into the Gulf of Guinea between the end of November and the middle of March." Now of course, this operation was begun at the end of the season's wind, but Libya of course is in the Sahara, while the Ivory Cost rests on the nothern edge of the Gulf of Guinea.

Breaking news today shows that S6U prediction was completely accurate, and has happened all too quickly.

UN, French fire on Gbagbo residence in Ivory Coast

ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast – United Nations and French helicopters fired rockets on strongman Laurent Gbagbo's residence on Sunday in an assault the U.N. said was to retaliate for attacks by his forces on U.N. headquarters and civilians.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he had authorized the strikes, accusing Gbagbo of using heavy weapons against Ivory Coast civilians and the U.N. forces trying to protect them...

...Gbagbo has been living in a bunker in his residence in Abidjan for nearly a week. After a decade in power, he refuses to step aside even though the United Nations has ruled that he lost the November presidential election to Alassane Ouattara.

Source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110411/ap_on_re_af/af_ivory_coast

So what we see here, is the UN making all sorts of unsubstantiated charges in order to oust the standing leader of the embattled west African nation, extending the French military mission in Africa which began with strikes in Libya.

Ron Paul: ‘New World Order’ Using Financial Crisis, Wars To Enhance Globalism

Congressman Ron Paul, icon to liberty lovers the world over, sent a stark message this week to ruling elite “internationalists” attempting to expand globalism via the Western military industrial complex – you will fail.

Speaking on the nationally syndicated Alex Jones Show, Paul expressed his concern that a deeply malign form of globalism is being promoted and expanded on the back of international crises, namely the political upheaval in the middle east and north Africa, coupled with ongoing financial meltdown.

“The new world order people see it as an opportunity to move one step forward.” Paul stated, alluding to an infamous description of the current US led international coalition of powers.

“Bush senior bragged about that, remember he didn’t want to go to Congress, he came and got a token approval in 1990/91 for the Persian Gulf war, but he got his orders from the UN, he didn’t need to go to Congress… That was the first time I heard a president use the words ‘new world order’, anyone who used that had to be a conspiracy nut, but Bush was saying this is what we need to do for the ‘new world order’.” Paul explained.

“They go to war under NATO and the UN, not by the Congress,” Paul added. “But ultimately the big one is to control the money, so they are making their plans to have a world wide fiat currency through the IMF/World Bank operations.”

Has the conquest of Africa begun?

A quick overthrow of the government in Tunisia. A quite stable government since Tunisia gained independence in 1956. Then the U.S. pressured ousting of Mubarak in Egypt. Now the unprecedented rapid escalation of U.S. pressure on Libya. In just a few days we went fron the same sort of tough talk we had been handing Mubarak, to almost instantly brokering a no-fly zone and arms embargo. We turned right around and violated the embargo supplying arms to the rebels. One night we launch a barrage of missiles to support the French mission, the next morning we are carpet bombing Libyan cities with B-52's and Stealth bombers.

Operation Odyssey Dawn. Why the hell are we embarking on any sort of odyssey at all? This certainly goes against the stated role of only "helping out" the international community for a few days, and the coalition is rapidly disintegrating. Odyssey sounds an awful lot like a mission without end, which really seems startlingly accurate actually, considering the US's ambiguity over the the stated goal of the mission.

So then I read this today:

HAGUE: DESIRE FOR FREEDOM WILL SPREAD THROUGH AFRICA

William Hague today predicted other countries in Africa would see uprisings similar to those in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.

The Foreign Secretary pulled no punches as he predicted the regimes in Zimbabwe and Ivory Coast might be undone by their unhappy peoples...

So we have the flanks of northern Africa destablized by rebels, an scorching opening salvo by American forces ahead of their "Odyssey" into the heart of the Sahara. Then we have the French operation named after a wind that carries down to the Ivroy Coast, which is NAMED as one of the next to have a revolution. From there we go all the way down to almost the southern tip of Africa to the other named, Zimbabwe.

Now we are left with eastern Africa, where pirates Djibouti have been rocking the boat for some time now putting Somalia on the map of potential targets. And then we have Sudan, who, along with Libya, is one of the last countries in the world on that short list of nations who do not have a central bank owned by the Rothschilds.

Want me to draw you a picture?

Libyan villagers who welcomed downed pilots, shot by rescue chopper

Six Libyan villagers are recovering in hospital after being shot by American soldiers coming in to rescue the U.S. pilots whose plane crash-landed in a field.

The helicopter strafed the ground as it landed in a field outside Benghazi beside the downed U.S. Air Force F-15E Eagle which ran into trouble during bombing raid last night.

And a handful of locals who had come to greet the pilots were hit - among them a young boy who may have to have a leg amputated because of injuries caused by a bullet wound.
