Man in wheelchair body-slammed, face smashed by police

UPDATE:

This press-release statement was just issued to CopBlock.org when they inquired about the incident seen above:

On Thursday, May 19, the Metro Transit Police on routine patrol at the U St. Metrorail station observed a patron in a wheelchair drinking an alcoholic beverage. The officers asked the patron to leave the area and he refused. The officers then attempted to issue the patron a citation and when the patron refused to comply with the issuance of a citation he was told that he would be placed under arrest. The patron resisted arrest which resulted in him falling out of his wheelchair. The patron was arrested for assault on a police officer and drinking in public.

The patron was transported to a local hospital with a minor injury. Metro Transit Police are following up on this report.

what the hell ??? omg what could he possibly have done to deserve this???... unbelievable... all that blood on the sidewalk from them pulling him out of the chair and throwing him face-first onto the pavement... because he was drinking in public... intoxicated perhaps... but he can't even walk... assault on a police officer???

Drinking or not, he certainly did not deserve what they did to him. Maybe he was intoxicated, maybe he got wise with them, I don't care. Fuckin cops will beat the shit out of little kids who "disrepect" them. Respect is a two way street you fuckin pigs. I'm sick of it!

I'm with the cops, don't wanna listen? Get your ass kicked. No ones above the law. Not even belligerent cripples.

I really don't care if he is crippled or not. No one deserves to have their face smashed in over an open container.

And you are absolutely right, no one is above the law, especially the police. What you see on that video is a felony assault by two thugs sworn to uphold the law. Police are neither judge, nor jury. It is not their job to dispense their own personal brand of justice.
